Arsenal – Hector Bellerin<\/h3>\n
It would be too easy to talk about Mesut Ozil, so let’s look at someone else instead. Hector Bellerin has a lovely head of hair. He’s also incredibly fast. Other than that, we’re not really sure what to make of the Spaniard. The former Barcelona-academy player is very highly rated. But we still don’t know why though. So far he really hasn’t achieved anything with Arsenal.<\/p>\n The fashionista has had rotten luck with injuries over the past two seasons. He also turned vegan in 2017 so that may not be a coincidence. He needs to get his head out of Instagram. Then he can get back onto the pitch and show what he can do. <\/p>\n McGinn is good. But is he worth $50 million? Definitely not. During the summer transfer window, it was reported that was how much Manchester United was willing to spend on the Scottish international. To be fair, that’s not his fault because he did have a superb season in the Championship with Aston Villa.<\/p>\n But it just shows you how crazy money in the game is today. McGinn is unproven at the highest level so the thought of spending that much money on him is quite simply outrageous. The potential is there but he has to prove it. <\/p>\n Some people talk about Ryan Fraser as though he were the second coming of Pele. We can only assume that those Bournemouth fans have drunk too much Buckfast. Sure, he did have a very decent 2018\/19, as he formed a formidable partnership with Callum Wilson. But he’s not the outstanding winger everybody thinks he is.<\/p>\n Right now, he’s fallen behind Dominic Solanke in the Cherries pecking order. Yes, that Dominic Solanke who couldn’t hit a barn door with a shotgun. He definitely needs to a do little bit more to get himself off of this list. Not that he’ll care anyway. <\/p>\n It was really tough to choose an overrated Brighton player. We’ve chosen Lewis Dunk, not because he’s a bad player, but because his partner Shane Duffy is at least as good. The pair have been united at the back of the Brighton defense since promotion in 2017. However, Dunk gets twice as much credit.<\/p>\n Dunk is definitely talented, but Duffy surely deserves more respect. The colossal Irishman is very consistent and is a throwback to the old days. Would Dunk be as good without his partner beside him? We don’t think so.<\/p>\n James Tarkowski is decent. Let’s leave it there. Anybody saying he’s the best defenseman needs to calm down. Last season, Burnley conceded 26 goals in their first 10 games. Tarkowski played in almost every one of those. Of course, the entire defense was at fault, but clearly, he’s not a leader.<\/p>\n After Harry Maguire moved to Manchester United, Tarkowski was heavily linked to Leicester City as a direct replacement for ‘Slabhead.’ They were quoted obscene money for the Burnley man and decided to stick with what they had got. We don’t blame them. To sum up, he’s solid but not amazing. <\/p>\n The Croatian international is one of those players with a glowing reputation, but nobody is really sure what he does. That’s the position he finds himself in with Chelsea. Yes, he’s a central midfielder, but what exactly is his role? Is he a holder or a box-to-box marauder? Nobody knows.<\/p>\n The World Cup finalist had a very mediocre season last term with Chelsea. Yet, they were still convinced to make his stay permanent, signing him from Real Madrid for almost $50 million. That’s a lot of money. Kovacic has it all to prove and not a lot of time to do so. <\/p>\n This is definitely going to be a controversial pick, but we think Wilfried Zaha is overrated. There’s a reason why big clubs haven’t gone after the Ivory Coast international. We’re not saying he’s a bad player, but he’s definitely not worth the massive figures that have been quoted. In short, that’s why nobody has paid them.<\/p>\n Zaha possesses mesmerizing skills, but he’s not consistent. Maybe he just needs a fresh challenge. Sure, he scored 10 goals for Palace last season, but he doesn’t always turn up. It’s also a fact that he has a well-earned reputation for diving. Will he ever get another big move?<\/p>\n If Everton has serious ambitions about getting into the top six, nevermind the top four, they need to upgrade Dominic Calwert-Lewin. He’s talked about as though he’s still a teenager. The Sheffield native is 22 now and by no means a prolific goalscorer. Everton has a shocking record in recent years with their forwards, so it’s no surprise he’s had so much game time.<\/p>\n Calwert-Lewin is not a bad player, but he’s definitely not elite. Nor does it look like he’s ever going to be at that level. The young man is a solid squad option for a midtable side, but he’s certainly never going to be the next Jamie Vardy. <\/p>\n Demerai Gray is running out of time. That might sound dramatic, but the fact is he’s 23 now and still can’t establish himself as a regular starter. Gray is the definition of a tricky, speedy winger. His main problem is convincing his managers to give him a run of games to prove himself.<\/p>\n So far he’s failed to do that. Gray has talent but he makes poor decisions and fails to influence games. Leicester has big ambitions and competition for places. When you look at James Maddison’s performances for the club, you can see the problem. He’s a year younger than Gray. <\/p>\n Liverpool might have one of the meanest defenses in the Premier League, but Trent Alexander-Arnold is definitely the weakest link. Renowned for his incredible crossing ability, he’s also able to deliver a mean free-kick. However, he can definitely be exposed defensively.<\/p>\n Alexander-Arnold is still only 20, so he definitely has a lot of time on his side. It’s incredible that he’s already played in a World Cup and in two Champion’s League Finals already. He’s definitely got bags of potential, but he’s not the finished article yet. <\/p>\n If Stones wasn’t an English international, would people still be banging on about him? Stones looks totally out of his depth at Manchester City. Nicolas Otamendi isn’t an amazing defender, so it doesn’t say much when you can’t get in ahead of the Argentina international. But that’s the position Stones finds himself in.<\/p>\n The main problem for Stones is that he seems to lack confidence in himself. Ever prone to a clanger, the former Everton man has been criticised for inviting unnecessary pressure on himself. Pep Guardiola seems to have lost faith in the Englishman, who was City’s fourth-choice center-back last year. He cost the club almost $60 million. <\/p>\n Possibly the most overrated player on this list, Paul Pogba is a conundrum. It’s crazy to say this about one of the most valuable players in world football and a World Cup winner, but it’s the truth. Several Manchester United managers have all tried to get the best out of the volatile Frenchman, but all of them have failed.<\/p>\n There’s no doubting his talent, but Pogba seems more interest in building his brand than actually performing on the pitch. He performs well in patches, however, most Red Devils fans wouldn’t be sad to see the back of him. It’s a shame and a shambolic waste of talent. <\/p>\n The fans call him Lord Voldemort, but it’s a pity he doesn’t have the same magic powers. Jonjo Shelvey is a very talented player, but his temperament is a big problem. You just can’t trust the Englishman in big games. He’s a volatile character and that’s definitely to his detriment.<\/p>\n Shelvey possesses an incredible passing range and is also capable of spectacular goals. The trouble is when he snaps and stamps on somebody, leaving his team in the lurch. Last season he only made 16 appearances. In short, he’s no longer the key cog that he once was for Newcastle. <\/p>\n It might seem a bit harsh to put David McGoldrick on this list because he hasn’t been in the Premier League for long. The Ireland international scored 15 times for the Blades the last term and was a big part of their promotion push. The big question is whether or not he’s good enough for this level?<\/p>\n In short, no. McGoldrick is a hard worker but he’s not prolific. He’s yet to find the net in five appearances. While he’ll probably get a few goals over the course of the season, it’s clear that he’s not going to be the consistent goalscorer that Sheffield United hoped for. <\/p>\n Danny Ings is one of the nicest guys in football. Injuries prevented him from making his mark at Liverpool and finally moved to Southampton for big money. So far though, he’s still got it all to prove at St. Mary’s. Ings is technically gifted, hard-working and has an eye for goal, but he needs to step up to the plate.<\/p>\n He only made 24 appearances last season, scoring 8 goals. It might be harsh to call him overrated, but you definitely don’t want to stake your season on him. Ings just can’t stay fit and you just hope that doesn’t define his legacy. <\/p>\n What exactly is Delle Alli’s best position? The problem with the English player is that nobody really knows. After a very promising start to his career at Spurs, it has fizzled out. He’s no longer a guaranteed starter and his form is very concerning. It’s a far cry from when he was considered one of the best young players in the world.<\/p>\n In his second Premier League season, Alli scored a very impressive 18 goals. Last year he suffered from injuries and was unable to assert the same influence. His form hasn’t recovered, and he’s definitely in danger of losing his place in the squad. We hate to say it, but at the moment, he’s definitely overrated. <\/p>\n Will Hughes was a typical English wunderkind. When he was at Derby he was annually linked to Liverpool. That move never happened and now he’s with Watford. Although the midfielder definitely is an attractive player to watch, he definitely hasn’t reached his full potential yet. Despite basing his game on Xavi and Iniesta’s, Hughes hasn’t reached that level.<\/p>\n A former England U-21 international, Hughes played 26 times for Watford last season. Now 24, he’s no longer a kid. He’ll have to kick on and become a bigger influence for his side this term. Otherwise, questions will be asked about how good he really is. <\/p>\n We admit that the majority of fans don’t rate Jack Wilshere anymore. However, the fact remains that he was handed a three-year contract by the West Ham board last year. Wilshere has only played 10 times for ‘The Hammers’ in two seasons. They definitely expected more from the former Arsenal man.<\/p>\n It was a risk that so far has not paid off. On his day, Wilshere is a magnificent player. Who can forget that time he tore Barcelona apart when he was 19? The problem is that his day just does not come often enough. Injuries have devastated him and at the age of 27, it’s not looking good.<\/p>\n He’s built like an army tank, but it’s a pity he’s got the brain of one. Adama Traore possesses lightning speed. The problem is that he makes the wrong decision too often. As a product of Barcelona’s La Masia academy, you know that he’s got raw talent. However, he’s yet to truly click into gear.<\/p>\n This season, the lightning winger has been moved further back into the defensive line. Does he have the discipline to play as a wing-back? That remains to be seen.
